Soft soles as first shoes

We have been selecting the best soft soles for the natural development of children's feet for 10 years. On the Footic website, you will find pre-walking booties for little boys and girls. Our children also wear soft soles from their very first steps to help them develop good walking habits. Read on to find out when it is best to give children their first shoes and why barefoot shoes are good for them.

E-shop Footic allows you to easily filter soft soles by size, type, colour, manufacturer and many other parameters. We will be happy to advise you on how to choose the right shoes on our customer service line - you can contact us via chat, e-mail, phone, Facebook or Instagram. The key is always to measure the length and width of the foot accurately. If you're still unsure what the best pre-walking booties for your child are, check out our latest comparative review.

You can also search for soft soles by the manufacturer. The most popular brands of children's booties include Bobux, BaBice, Lait et Miel, Nohatka, Poco Nido and Froddo. We stock all baby booties and guarantee fast delivery with a return policy of up to three weeks.

What are infant shoes?

The infant shoes are soft first shoes. Often they are put on in the pram in winter to protect the baby from cold, but for our purposes we take the infant shoes as full home footwear for the first steps.

Usage of infant shoes

Infant shoes can be used as slippers at home or for school and kindergarten, compared to house slippers they are much softer behind the heel and have a much thinner sole.

Unlike the toddler shoes, however, infant shoes are not designed for outdoor use, as the sole could break down in the harsh outdoor environment.

When to start with infant shoes?

A separate article on the subject advises not to start with infant shoes before:

  • the child walks around the room independently and spends the majority of the day on his or her feet
  • the external conditions (e.g. extreme cold) make it necessary to protect the feet
  • You have enough information on the topic of why you should choose the infant shoes

Let your child walk barefoot as long and as often as possible.

Advantages of infant shoes

Thanks to their parameters, infant shoes promote natural walking and the development of healthy movement patterns:

  • With a thin sole, the child perceives the stimuli from the ground and learns to react to them.
  • They are soft and flexible in all directions, which is important for proper foot roll.
  • They have a spacious toe box in which children can easily spread their toes and lean on them.
  • The flat sole does not lean children forward or backward, which would compensate for a bad stance.
  • Due to the low weight, the child hardly feels them on the foot.

How to choose the infant shoes?

Rather than taking your toddler to the store for a long shoe fitting, shop online with a wide selection and clear filtering.

  1. Measure the child's foot to know the exact length of the foot.
  2. Add an extra 5-9 mm to the length of the foot to give the beginner room to grow.
  3. Enter the sum in the filtering of the inner length of the shoe, select the desired model from the list of suitable sizes of the caps.
  4. If you are still hesitant about which shoes to choose, try reading the comparison review or contact customer support.
